Well, this past Thursday was the big day to see the geneticist (Dr. Kari Casas). So far we have good results - she was measured & weighed while we were there. Bella now weighs 16lbs, 13oz - so she's gained almost 3lbs during the past month. Thank you God! Dr. Casas noted that she is delayed in her bone growth. (Her skull has not closed yet, so she still has a soft spot.) However, she is advanced in her language development. She also has an abnormality in the line or ridges of her inside palm (something about it being 3 instead of 4), but this matches her Daddy's palm.
Since Bella's been gaining weight with the formula supplement, Dr. Casas didn't seem concerned with her overall development. She said that if we really wanted to delve into what's going on with her system, we could test her chromosomes - but she didn't think that was necessary at this point. We are scheduled to see her again in about six months, unless our pediatrician says we don't need to.
Dr. Casas went ahead and gave her the label of SHORT STATURE (hence the title SS Bella) & estimated that her adult height would be about 5'2". Hmmm.....I think we all called that one! Thank you all for your prayers and comments, they were very encouraging.

she is too precious. and what a great growth spurt!! iwhen we got clark's urine and blood tests back they said everything was normal and he was just long and lean. i was glad we have a cautious dr., but i wanted to say, "duh!" because brody is lean and tall. i'm glad your dr. helped answer some questions and hopefully put your minds to rest. God is good...all the time!
ps- get out that machine girl...if i can do it, ANYONE can do it...i promise!!! :)
So glad all went well! I knew it would. We have been down that road. Also, love the pics and Brady's hair- or lack there of! Hope your weekend is great...

Love the SS Bella title! She is SO ADORABLE! I hope you got the answers you needed and that God put a peace in your heart that little Bella is as perfect as He created her to be! Love ya'll!
SS Bella is perfect in every way... We all did not need to be a Dr. to say she might be short but! Hope the news is what you needed to know and hear. We will continue to pray for her and her parents - like Mel said, I hope there is peace found.
I'm so glad to hear that she is progressing and that the Dr's aren't as concerned. Everyone knows she will be petite and at 5'2", she will make a wonderful cheerleader or gymnist!!!! I don't know if Brady will be ready for all that. She's beautiful and we will continue to keep her in our prayers.
