Brady has also been busy....One of our FF friends recently (back in February) called him to let us know that Dallas was testing & hiring 150 firefighters from this round. For those of you who don't know, Brady went through DeSoto's Fire Academy and EMT school a few years ago and tried to get on as a FF without luck. Too many people were testing (and basically he wasn't a minority!!) for just a few openings each time.
Brady decided to take the test again this time, since the odds would be better. He made the 1st cut & was told to take the Accuplacer test (which is basically the same test - but it lets the UT Southwest school know if you could handle their paramedic school). He made high scores on this, and was then scheduled to take the physical ability test May 19th. He did very well on this, and was then scheduled to take a polygraph test & have a personal interview with a panel of FFs. So now here we are........... Brady got the call today - he's in!! He will start either with the Fire Academy or Paramedic School at the end of October! This is a BIG PRAISE REPORT - because now THEY can pay for Brady to finish up his degree in Health/Kinesiology for Physical Therapy! YIPPEE!

Way to go Brady! Being or getting in to be FF is hard work. We have several friends that are FF and we also had one friend that tried so hard to get in. That is so awesome...GOD is good!

Woo hoo! I am so happy for you guys! I know this has been a long time coming. Oh- and I want a signed copy of the 2009 Firefighter Calendar signed by Mr. April!!! :) Woo woo!
